EKW&A always uses testing and assessment instruments that meet the strictest validation requirements as defined by several expert evaluation sources, and which meet EEOC guidelines. We work closely with companies and individuals to determine which assessment instruments will provide the most useful data. The following is a listing of assessment instruments we frequently use:

Leadership and Management Assessment Instruments

Leadership Effectiveness Analysis (LEA)

An integrated process designed to help clients understand how their leadership practices align with the organization's business strategy. The feedback report shows the results of how their leadership practices supported or impeded leadership effectiveness. In its 360 ° format, the LEA looks at self-perception of management/leadership practices, perspectives, and behavior compared with those of significant stakeholders and the expectations of the organization. Modification of behavior through changes in critical leadership/management traits help bring the manager to higher levels of effectiveness as perceived by these stakeholders.

As a role-based instrument for the prediction of certain classes of management/leadership behavior and attitude, this instrument is used for: Individual Manager/Leader Development, Selection of Managers and Leaders (in conjunction with certain safeguards), Diagnostic Group Management/Leadership Practices, as an adjunct in Team Development.

One can also use Coaching For Results in conjunction with Leadership 360 ° providing the individuals' coach (boss, mentor, selected peer) with a narrative of the Leadership 360 ° assessment and a structured process for an ongoing, developmental coaching relationship.

Personal Directions (PDI)

A unique and powerful assessment tool designed to be used by coaches and counselors in order to explore career development and personal growth issues with their clients. It provides individuals with rich and insightful feedback that helps them explore their motivations, examine how these have affected the choices they have made in different areas of their lives, and consider what actions they might wish to take in the future. Personal Directions can help individuals align their personal strengths with their job roles and responsibilities in order to increase their effectiveness and enhance their satisfaction.

Management Assessment Profile (MAP)

An in-depth, customized assessment of a candidate's capabilities, focusing on problem-solving resources, leadership, team effectiveness, productivity and time management, and personal adjustment. A thorough review of each area is provided, as well as an integrated summary and recommendation.

Managerial Style Questionnaire (MSQ)

Identifies management style(s) manager relies on most and when those style(s) are most and least effective. Since a manager's behavior directly impacts employee motivation, understanding the manager's style can be very valuable. This instrument identifies six managerial styles: coercive, authoritative, affiliative, democratic, pacesetting, coaching.

The MSQ is especially effective when used in organizational improvement, management development and coaching programs.

Coaching Process Questionnaire (CPQ)

Recognized as one of the most effective yet hardest to develop management styles, coaching is crucial to winning in the workplace as it is “on the field”. The CPQ assesses an individual's coaching ability based on four key elements: Diagnostic Skills, Coaching Techniques, Coaching Qualities, Coaching Model.

This instrument is especially effective in training that is focused on managing and motivating others for the long-term.

Personality/Behavioral Profile Instruments

(Can be used in conjunction with Leadership Assessments)

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is an assessment tool used to identify one's "preference type". Each type perceives the outside world and makes decisions differently from other types. The objective is to identify, understand and value these differences, both in oneself and in others. Helps individuals to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and how they communicate with others. An organization must continue to develop internally to keep competitive in today's marketplace.

The MBTI can be part of your company's growth by helping your associates/staff/employees understand themselves and their behaviors and how their behaviors affect the bottom-line, improve teamwork, facilitate more effective communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, gain in-depth information regarding management and work styles, values, attitudes, areas of strength and potential development, energy direction, role perception, modes of learning, and blind spots and pitfalls, appreciate diversity, improve management and leadership techniques, understand and adapt to different management styles, maximize use of company resources, create positive, constructive strategies for developing personal potential.

Strong and MBTI Entrepreneur Report

This career development report combines the vocational interest results from the Strong with personality type results from the MBTI® to give an in-depth look at an individual's entrepreneurial potential. This information is essential for those individuals who have entrepreneurial aspirations, those who are just starting out in their career, and those who are looking at the next stage of their career as a result of job plateauing, a desire for change, or downsizing.

Myers-Briggs Step II Interpretive

The Step II is an expanded MBTI report recommended for individuals who hold supervisory/management positions. It offers personalized tips for enhancing communication and managing change and conflict. Summary shows the individual's results in brief, and the average range of scores of people of the individual's MBTI type.

DiSC

DiSC is a model of human behavior that helps people understand “why they do what they do.” The dimensions of Dominance, influencing, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness make up the model and interact with other factors to describe human behavior.

This instrument is used as an assessment tool in training and coaching efforts as a performance improvement strategy. The DiSC model promotes it's most important benefit as creating “people smarts” - helping individuals understand themselves and others better. With this as the foundation, clients then utilize the model to achieve the following outcomes: improve collaboration and reduce conflict, build results-producing teams, develop effective coaches and managers, increase sales and service success.
